About the Position

The Digital Services Development team is looking for a Scrum Master / Project Manager, eager to take on exciting tasks developing digital services for our end customers.

The Scrum Master is responsible for monitoring the scrum processes and scrum meetings. This role is responsible for team efficiency, motivating the team, promoting and influencing for changes that will ensure quality and timeliness. This role also ensures DoD (Definition of done) is being followed.
The Scrum Master will act as a key facilitator and contributor to the ultimate success of the assigned product. You will join our development team in building the next generation of our digital services from the ground up. This position typically reports to a Head of department or Product Owner. This position also works collaboratively with cross functional teams across the organization.

What are my responsibilities?

  • Responsible for facilitating projects and guides cross functional teams in executing the principles of the Scrum framework
  • Acts as a servant leader to the team, and facilitates planning, team learning in the form of reviews and retrospectives, and adaptation of the process to ensure quality of team/solutions
  • Ensures the tracking and reporting of daily activities.
  • Responsible for removing impediments that prevent a team from completing the work it has negotiated for a given sprint
  • Managing stakeholder expectations regarding target scope, schedule and budget
  • Facilitating daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo and iteration meetings
  • Can also act as a team member, executing specific and project management tasks
     

What do I need to qualify for this job?

  • A minimum of 2 years leading people and cross functional teams (either through influence or direct report)
  • Knowledge of software development and/or business management as normally obtained through completion of a bachelor’s degree in computer science/engineering, Business, or a related degree or a closely related field
  • Previous experience as a collaborative leader
  • Track record of continued and recent education in Scrum, including training, conferences, user groups, self-study, etc. Scrum Master certification (PSM I, CSM, PSM II, PSM III, CSP, CTC) preferred
  • Experience playing the Scrum Master role for at least two years for a Scrum team is preferred
  • Experience being on multiple Scrum teams in a variety of different contexts (different team sizes, different organizations, different cultures, co-located vs. distributed, etc.)
  • Has solid skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills
  • Knowledge of other approaches discussed in the Agile space: XP, Kanban, Nexus, LeSS, SAFe, Crystal, FDD, etc.
  • Must be self-starting, hardworking and inquisitive
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English. Spanish is a plus
