Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is among the biggest challenges for human and animal health. The Genomic Epidemiology Research Group is as part of the responsibilities as reference laboratory for AMR for EU, WHO and FAO conducting verification of susceptibility testing, external quality assurance and involved in several projects that involves receiving and sending samples and bacterial strains as well as conducting capacity building in several countries. Department of Clinical Genetics, University Hospital Copenhagen, Rigshospitalet, has a full-time position open, for a trained bioinformatician, computational scientist or alike. The candidate will join our growing team of molecular geneticist and medical doctors involved in diverse aspects of NGS data processing, qualification and interpretation with focus on patient diagnostics. The department process more than 25.000 patient samples yearly, where a substantial and growing proportion are analyzed through an NGS based procedure, ranging from single genes to WGS, including NIPT, PGT and other highly specialized processes. We are constantly developing new analytic pipelines and diagnostic procedures and are planning to employ RNA seq, long-read seq and metabolomics to enhance the diagnostic outcome.
